BYK ADD-VANCE® BA 401 Blowing agent  (discontinued **)
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Foamed products of Polyolefin and other polymers.
Examples: Extruded sheets and foams in general as well as injection molded parts that require a foamed core.

Mode of action and advantages: ADD-VANCE® BA 401 contains a proprietary combination of endothermic blowing agent additives. ADD-VANCE® BA 401 contains a relatively high level of active components and NO polymer carrier. Processing temperature and other processing conditions are a major factor to achieve a certain development of foam in the product. As a result we recommend to experiment with several processing conditions.

Advantages: Universal blowing agent for Polyolefins and other polymers (e.g. Polyamide); Excellent foam development and fine cell structure; Cost savings due to reduced polymer use; Weight reduction of the final part; Cost efficient: the product is very effective at low dosing rates: 1.0 – 2.0 wt%; Foam densities of 0.5 – 0.6 g / dm3 can be achieved in Polyolefins applying processing temperatures in the range 180- 200 °C, also dependent on other conditions, such a residence time and processing pressures; and Easy to use.
