Master Bond adhesives
Covestro Bayhydrol® A 2646 Polyurethane Coating
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Adhesives, Sealants, and Coatings; Thermoset; Polyurethane, TS

Material Notes: Anionic polyacrylate dispersion. Waterborne, low VOC two-component polyurethane coatings in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates.

Properties / Applications; On account of its outstanding mechanical and chemical resistance, the product is particularly suitable for the formulation of hard, high-gloss sealers for mineral substrates and reactive resins (EP, PUR). Furthermore, excellent accentuation of the grain of the substrate (e.g. colored coatings) is achieved. The binder can also be used for the formulation of high-grade low VOC coatings for use on substrates such as wood, metal, plastic, etc. The product can also be combined with other water-reducible binders. On account of the many potential co-reactants, compatibility testing should always be carried out. The high reactivity enables short drying times, which contribute to enhanced productivity. The viscosity of the product is largely governed by the pH. As the pH may decrease during storage, a decrease in viscosity is also to be expected. The viscosity can be restored to its original value by the addition of small amounts of triethanol amine. Dowanol® PnB and triethanolamine are OH-functional cosolvents/amines that react with isocyanates. They are therefore reactive thinners and not VOC-relevant pursuant to the Decopaint Directive 2004-42-EC.
