BYK ADD-MAX® 539 Efficiency masterbatch  (discontinued **)
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Fields of application: Masterbatch for improvement of production efficiency and product quality.

Examples: PP, HDPE and LLDPE cast and blown films, pipes, tubes, wire and cables, blow moulding and general extrusion.

Mode of action and advantages: ADD-MAX® 539 contains a highly effective additive that lowers the apparent viscosity of the polymer melt during processing. It reduces the friction between the polymer melt and internal metal surface of the processing equipment which is helpful to increase the production efficiency. Based on existing experience, ADD-MAX® 539 will not influence the mechanical properties of end-products, e.g. tensile strength, impact and Long Term Hoop Stress (pipe application).

Advantages: Reduction or elimination of die build-up; Reduction of melt-fracture phenomenon; Potentially higher throughputs can be achieved when capacity is available (10% - 30%). For blow moulding: reduction of cycle time; Reduction of die pressure and torque; Lower extrusion temperature, reduction of energy consumption; Reduction in surface defects and improvement of surface properties (gloss and appearance); Improved gauge control, reduced melt-orientation, die-swell and melt-pressure; Faster colour changes, reduction of waste and less production interruptions; Keeping-clean the metal surfaces of the extruder, die and filters, less “black spots“ in final product; Non-sticking pellets, dust free dosing and Safe and easy handling.

Regulations: ADD-MAX® 539 is suitable for food packaging products as the active ingredients are in compliance with current food contact regulation.
