LyondellBasell Pro-fax PF531 Polypropylene Homopolymer, Radiation Resistant
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polypropylene (PP)

Material Notes: Primary Processing Method: Injection Molding

Key Features: high melt flow, radiation-resistant polypropylene homopolymer resin, excellent retention of physical properties and color after radiation sterilization, easily processed

Applications: radiation-sterilizable medical and laboratory devices

Passed USP Class VI testing. All ingredients meet TSCA (US) and DSL (Canada).

Description: Pro-fax PF531 radiation-resistant, high melt flow, controlled rheology polypropylene homopolymer resin is designed for injection molding. This resin resists yellowing and embrittlement after 5 Mrads of gamma radiation. However, since performance and appearance after radiation sterilization can be sensitive to design and processing choices, the users should verify performance in their application. It passed USP Class VI testing. All ingredients meet the chemical registration requirements of TSCA and DSL.

Information provided by Montell Polyolefins.

LyondellBasell is the successor company to Montell.
