Wacker Elastosil® R plus 4450/60 Silicone Rubber
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Silicone; Silicone Rubber

Material Notes: ELASTOSIL® R plus 4450/60 is a one-part, addition curing blend for the production of compression molded articles. The vulcanizates are black and are notable for their good mechanical properties as well as for their high heat resistance. ELASTOSIL® R plus 4450/60 has very good resistance to hot air at temperatures of 250°C to 300°C.Curing and postcuring do not produce any cleavage products typically formed when peroxides decompose. The curing rate is much higher than that of peroxide systems. Cure time is reduced to 30 - 50 % depending on the wall thickness.

Special features:

  • good hot air resistance
  • easy demolding
  • dry surface
  • no unpleasant smell caused
Application: The product is suitable for the production of compression molded technical articles requiring high resistance to air hotter than 250 °C.
