Elkem (Bluestar Silicones) SILCOLAPSE® 623 Silicone Antifoam Emulsion
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Description: SILCOLAPSE® 623 and SILCOLAPSE® 621 are water soluble defoamers designed for use in a wide range of aqueous industrial applications. SILCOLAPSE® 623 and SILCOLAPSE® 621 are 30% and 10% emulsions respectively formulated using Silcolapse 610 as the active defoaming silicone compound. These products effectively control foam at concentrations as low as 10 ppm solids, even at elevated temperatures and under pressure. SILCOLAPSE® 623 and SILCOLAPSE® 621 give good results at wide-ranging pH and are particularly effective in alkaline conditions.

Applications:

  • Industrial: Starch production; Soap and industrial detergent manufacturing; Metal working an cutting oils
  • Petroleum Refining: Gas scrubbing; Cement & Drilling muds; Asphalt production
  • Synthetic Rubber Processing: Natural or synthetic latex
  • Waste Water Treatment
  • Sea Water Distillation
  • Paints, Inks and Varnishes: Manufacture of aqueous pigments in alkaline pH
  • Pesticides: Insecticides, fungicides & herbicides; Glues, pastes and adhesives
  • Textiles: Sizing and Bleaching; High Temperature Dyeing; Finishing
Features:
  • Easy to use – as supplied or pre-diluted in water or in the medium to be defoamed
  • Cost efficient, effective in doses as low as 10 ppm
  • Highly effective in most aqueous media, and at many pH levels
  • Chemically inert in foaming systems – will not alter the properties of the foaming medium
  • Heat resistant – withstands temperatures up to 120°C (248°F)
  • Low viscosity allows it to be used with automatic metering systems
