Syensqo (Solvay Specialty Polymers) Polymist® XPH-284 PTFE Powder Lubricant  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Fluoropolymer; Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE); PTFE Powder

Material Notes: Meets the requirements of 21 CFR 177.1550.

Polymist® powders are a family of white free-flowing polytetrafluoroethylene powders for use as additives in other materials to enhance processing or end-use performance characteristics. Polymist powders have been specially produced to provide a finely divided product which will not agglomerate and can easily be dispersed in dry or liquid media. Polymist powders are used as additives in elastomers and plastics where improved lubricity and/or wear resistance is required. In paints and coatings Polymist powders are designed for use as additives where narrow particle size distribution is required and improvements in release, mar resistance, slip, chemical resistance, weatherability, and moisture repelling characteristics are desired. Printing inks use Polymist powders as scuff resistant additives. Polymist powders are used as dry lubricants in machinery where liquid lubricants and/or potential staining cannot be tolerated.

Uses: Thermoplastics, thermoset resins, paints, coatings, printing inks, oils, and greases.

Benefits of Polymist powders are it can be used alone as dry-film lubricants, or as additives in plastics, elastomers and other media; does not agglomerate or lump during handling or processing; inert to practically all chemical solvents; reduces the friction coefficient; improves wear characteristics; UV and weather resistant; improved nonstick and release properties; increased rub resistance; improved corrosion resistance, improved thermal stability; improved thermal stability; improved corrosion resistance; improved thermal stability; excellent electrical insulator; and does not absorb moisture.
