Wacker Wacker® L 656 Silicone Fluid
Categories: Fluid; Polymer

Material Notes: WACKER® L 656 is a non reactive, aminofunctional polydimethylsiloxane. In comparison with other curable amino silicone fluids, WACKER® L 656 exhibits an increased storage stability both as 100% fluid and in ready-to-use formulations.

WACKER® L 656 can be used as a component for rinse-off agents in automatic car washes. For these formulations, WACKER® L 656 is converted into its cationic form by neutralization with organic acids and, therefore, shows an enhanced affinity to car bodies. In combination with cationic emulsifiers and tensides, protonated WACKER® L 656 improves the break-down and sheeting of the water film as well as conditioning effects and gloss level. WACKER® L 656 can be applied frequently without formation of any build-up. WACKER® L 656 is used in paint conditioners and paint polishes in order to provide superior gloss and detergent resistance. In comparison with conventional polydimethylsiloxanes of the series WACKER® AK, aminofunctional WACKER® L 656 exhibits an excellent affinity to various substrates. Gloss and depth of color are retained for a longer period of time.
