Sandvik NiCr2Mn2Si Wire
Categories: Metal; Nonferrous Metal; Nickel Alloy

Material Notes: Sandvik NiCr2Mn2Si is a nickel alloy with high resistance to oxidation and corrosion caused by combustion gases. The grade is typically used for spark plug electrodes. Special alloys containing > 90 % nickel are commonly used by spark plug manufacturers in addition to chromium, manganese and silicon, which makes spark plug electrode products highly resistant to oxidation, corrosion and erosion at high temperatures caused by combustion gases. These alloys are also characterized by exceptional electric resistivity, electronic emission and the level of thermal conductibility required for its utilization as spark plug electrodes. It is important to point out that these special alloys are produced in accordance with specifications required for guarantee of mechanical strength combined with ductility, which facilitate adjustments for the opening of electrodes by bending components. Sandvik NiCr2Mn2Si main characteristics:
  • Resistant to oxidation and corrosion caused by combustion gases
  • Good characteristics of cold fabrication
  • Excellent electronic emission
