Refractory Metals
Schwarzkopf Plansee PM 1000 ODS Nickel Alloy  (discontinued **)
Categories: Metal; Metal Matrix Composite; Nonferrous Metal; Nickel Alloy

Material Notes: PM 1000 is a cold-workable oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) Ni based material with a high chromium alloy content. Dispersion strengthening with nano sized Y2O3 particles in combination with recrystallized coarse grained microstructure gives PM 1000 highest tensile and rupture strength at high temperatures. With a chromium content of 20% the material also shows excellent hot corrosion properties.

Advantages of PM 1000:

  • excellent creep strength up to 1200°C
  • hot gas corrosion resistant up to 1200 °C
  • superior low cycle fatigue properties
  • optimized emissivity properties for space applications up to 1300°C
Typical fields of application for PM 1000:
  • pull rod assemblies for high temperature testing
  • punches for the hot pressing of diamond containing tooling
  • hot metallic structures for the aerospace industry
  • guide vanes for gas turbines
  • spinner rings for the glass and ceramics industry
