Wacker Pulpsil® 355 Silicone Antifoam Compound
Categories: Fluid

Material Notes: Product description: A 100% active concentrated antifoam compound based on proprietary polysiloxane and silica technology. PULPSIL® 355 is an excellent formulation base for pulp and paper silicone emulsion defoamers. PULPSIL® 355 exhibits superior knockdown and holdout than most conventional silicone / silica defoamers. The antifoam agents active in PULPSIL® 355 are also matched with new organo-modified silicone glycol surfactants to provide improved drainage in most washing systems.

Application: PULPSIL® 355 is applicable in all types of pulping operations, but is particularly effective for kraft processes. Application is typically to the initial 2 to 3 stages of washing, with feed points to the stock inlet or dilution of the first stage, with smaller secondary applications to the subsequent stages. Feed rate generally ranges from 0.25 to 2.0 lb/ton of pulp. Actual product addition amounts and locations will depend on the needs of the individual processes.
